Experience
With eight years of trombone experience, Harry currently studies under Michael Mulcahy in the Northwestern Trombone Studio, and has previously studied with Tom Hornig and Nick Platoff.
Harry has played orchestral trombone for the past five years, most notably with his membership in the prestigious conservatory-level San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra as the Principal Trombone since his sophomore year. His other experience includes playing with the California Youth Symphony Senior Orchestra as the Principal Trombone and subbing for various other ensembles across the bay. He has also been participating in the All-State Honor Ensembles, with his most notable acceptance as Principal Trombone to the pre-eminent Symphony Orchestra in his junior year. More recently, he was accepted into national-level groups such as the Honor Band of America, and the National Youth Orchestra as an alternate trombonist.
In high school, Harry was the founding member of the Homestead Brass Quintet, where he led the group in rehearsing and performing a variety of brass chamber works, with their most notable performance in the Kennedy Center.
Harry officially began teaching trombone with Tri-City Band Corps, where he led seven individual lessons and two group lessons in the summer before his junior year. As of now, many of his students were accepted into youth orchestras around in the Bay Area, and a select few even into the All-State Honor Ensembles.
